About eventements
eventements has been an ongoing culmination of efforts between several successful and established partners and friends within the event
industry. Based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Brandi Hugar created eventements in the summer of 2004 as an effort to develop and share her
various hobbies and skills.
Brandi began her obsession with events while working in the catering industry which continued throughout college. Following graduation from
West Virginia University with two Bachelors degrees, she worked at a florist and then as a café manager. The café was a beautiful site for event
rentals, and she became a successful event planner for a local non-profit organization. There she made many friends and contacts with other
wedding and event vendors throughout the area. She became a member of Meeting Planners International and began taking Event Planning
classes to further her knowledge of the industry. Her catering jobs were taking off, and friends and family were especially interested in purchasing
her Crudite Art.
The wine bottle labels were a joint project between Patrick and Brandi. The idea came to them in a brainstorming session for a unique and
personalized gift that they would give to each of their friends and family who wed. They had immediate success with everyone who saw them.
Brandi began creating more designs and started selling them through EBay. As a wedding planner, a client requested she design a favor label for
them and the results were breathtaking.
After planning several weddings, she started getting calls for the calligrapher's name. When they found out Brandi had done the invitations herself,
she started getting calligraphy jobs. She formed Calligraphy by Brandi, which has since rolled into eventements. We now have two calligraphers on
staff for all or your calligraphy needs.
Brandi Hugar went back to work full time again as a Event Planner and Account Manager for a professional management association. There she
planned corporate events, such as board meetings, workshops and conferences. Through this she made many more friends and contacts
throughout the event industry, and was able to add that service to the eventements repertoire. Her husband had been given a wonderful
opportunity to travel around the country with his work, and Brandi was able to go along with him. Many of her clients were out of town, and she
was able to continue planning events remotely.
Her time on the road was spent wisely, continuing to make wine bottle labels and doing calligraphy jobs. It also allowed her to personally create a
wonderful website and daydream about future events to plan. eventements now has five employees, (including two calligraphers, two event
planners, and three caterers) and is planning on continuing to grow throughout the future.
